Making Slime

On Thursday we attempted to make slime. I made it the day before without the kids and was successful. However, it did not work when I tried with the kids. The problem seemed to be clumping. The ingredients include water, borax, glue, and food coloring. Over the weekend I tried a different way, this time using a 20 ounce bottle. I mixed the water and borax first to get the borax to dissolve. Then I added the glue and food coloring. Using the lid I was able to shake, rather than stir. It worked, but I still have some concerns about making it with the kids. One slight adjustment I will make is to use less borax.

Sometime this week we will give it another shot. That's what scientists do. Scientists test an idea out. When something doesn't work, they find a way to adjust.
