I knew that there was a chance we would have a snow day today, but I was actually hoping it wouldn't happen. The next few weeks are already pretty busy. Friday was scheduled to be our 100th day of school. Now, the 100th Day lands on Monday of Catholic Schools Week. I will make some adjustments and still may do some activities on Friday anyway. Since we do have a snow day, I am going to make the most of it. I am writing this late into the night. So far the snow hasn't started. I don't plan to wake up early in the morning. When I do, I will spend some extra time with my family and do some lesson planning. Let me share with you what the next few weeks will look like.
Tuesday, January 23 - Thursday, January 25 will be fairly normal.
Friday, January 26 - 99th Day of School - among our other normal activities we will also have a 99th day Mystery in the afternoon.
Sunday, January 28 - Catholic Schools Week kicks off with a family activity in the evening.
Monday, January 29 - February 2 - Catholic Schools week will be filled with many extra activities. Service projects, movies, dress up days, lunch with parents, and many other things are being planned. Friday is a 1/2 day of school.
Monday, February 5 - Thursday, February 8 - Short week due to Parent Teacher Conferences. Thursday will be a 1/2 day and Friday we are out of school.
Needless to say, the time will fly.
I realize that some of you may still have work today. Hopefully the roads will be clear enough for you to safely get to and from wherever you may need to go. If you child is at home, here are a few ideas for how they can make the most of the day off..
- visit the Skoolbo website or app.
- read o book to your child.
- practice recognizing numbers, shapes, and sounds.
- teach your child your phone number or their address.
- work on learning how to tie shoes.
- listen to your child count to 100.
- Play a game.
- Watch a movie.
- Put your snowsuits on and go play outside.
- Put a puzzle together.
Hopefully, you have a great day, regardless of what you do.
